This was a pretty cool event that took place in the Kodak Complex in Los Angeles. I had 3 nominations in three separate categories. The first one being ‘Where the Wild Ones Go’ in the ‘Best Blues’ category – it was this one that won me the Award that year.
My other two nominated tracks were 100 Years – my tribute to Robert Johnson also from the Calling Your Name Album nominated in the American category and ‘The Big Sleep’ from my Instrumental Album Surf, Spies and Film Noir in the Instrumental category.
Mark Blythe accepting my award in Hollywood 2011
I was represented on the Red carpet that year by Professor Mark Blythe and Gail Kantor the CEO of the amazing Ejamming software in W Hollywood.
Gail used to sing with Bette Midler and has sung backing vocals with a variety of artists such as James Taylor and James Brown – pretty impressive stuff Gail! Pictured Gail and Mark on the Red Carpet at Hollywood and Highlands.
